Rooster spur (C. annuum)

Also called 'Hot Claw', 'Takanotsume' and 'Hahong Kocho', this is a small pepper from Japan and China that is very piquant. The little firecrackers are about 3" long and used in stir fry and Szechwan dishes, and often dried. They are easy to grow, the bushes get about 2' tall, and are attractive enough for the flower border.
