Opiate Rotation and the Head People

Infections and pain medicines can intensify the symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer's. For more than a week BJ hosted "head guests". I couldn't see them, but the relatives and friends (some deceased) were paying him very real visits. It's a real dilemma when he insists that I interact with them. Do I deny his head-peoples' existence or play along? For now I do whatever will cause him (and me) the least anxiety. By changing his pain medication there is a chance that these delusions will diminish in frequency, duration and intensity - and the head guests will leave, at least for now.~Jack
