I am kind of new to gardening. I had a beautiful rose garden once but now that the kids are older I am starting to plant flowers everywhere. My husband is great about it and helps with what ever idea I come up with. Right now I have bougainvillea, lantana, spider plants, caladiva, gardenia, hibiscus, blue daze, golden dew drop, and a few more. I was recently given a small passion plant and after discovering catapillars on it I'm trying to keep them fed and still grow a plant. I don't want to pick them off because I am sending pics of them to my nieces. So this has gotten me to focus on plants that butterfly's like and ones that can handle the dry conditions that we were having. I also love flowers that smell good like gardenias and jasmine. I am always looking for more plants and variety. Especially things that look different and have color even if they don't have flowers on them. I also have several plant in containers. I have a couple of spots that are very sunny that I am finding plenty to plant but I am not having much luck on the shady side of the house. I have impatiens and I got a creeping fig I'm trying to grow for a ground covering around an oak tree that has to many roots sticking up to cut the grass that tries to grow there but after I planted it I found some info about it being invasive and it has me concerned. I would love to hear from anyone that wants to talk flowers.
