Taylor's Master Guide to Gardening

This is a compendium of gardening methods and techniques for North American gardeners and DOES NOT replace the several volumes of Taylor's Guides which cover individual plant types (trees, shrubs, perennials, etc.). The editors of Taylor's Master Guide to Gardening have brought together more than 30 professional horticulturists to write the dozens of informative chapters in this hefty 9.5x12.5" 612-page volume. The book has more than 360 pages on gardening techniques, including chapters on planning; elements of design; different garden types and styles; garden soils; planting methods; propagation; ongoing care; and a gallery of plant types and their uses in the landscape.

The book is illustrated with more than 1300 magnificent color photographs of actual garden scenes and specific garden plants, and more than 330 line drawings of gardening techniques and plant shapes. You will use this part of the book again and again for information and inspiration! The remainder of the book is a 250-page encyclopedia of important North American garden plants with where-to-use and how-to grow information on more than 3000 species. The individual entries include a description; hardiness; height and spread; uses, and are cross-referenced to the color photographs. The fabulous photographs of actual gardens and ornamental plants in the landscape are guaranteed to inspire even the most sedentary armchair gardener to get up and start planning a new garden!
