Plant1 from Floridata

Plant1 is the name of a new Floridata service that enables you to enhance your website with our popular Plant Profiles. Plant1 makes it easy to embed links to Floridata content—both images and data.

Plant-by-Numbers BETA
Our first Plant1 service is called Plant-by-Numbers. Although you could link directly to a Plant Profile using its filename as the hyperlink, that reference could change when we do our next upgrade or if the botanists decide that the plant’s scientific name needs to be changed. The Plant-by-Numbers service protects your link from filename changes and updates. Use Plant-by-Numbers to create snippets of HTML code to paste into your web pages.

The Plant-by-Numbers link that you create will look similar to this example when edited into your Web pages. Try clicking this link to see the Plant Profile displayed in a popup window.

To use this tool, find the Plant Profile that you wish to include on your web page. Then click Get Link in the title area—beneath the plant's name. A popup window will display the HTML code for the link to that profile. Copy this code and paste it where you wish the link to appear on your web page.

The Plant1 icon is part of the link and serves as a visual indication that this is a link to a Floridata Plant Profile presented in a popup window. This configuration is recommended.

Tell us how you use Plant1's Plant-by-Numbers and we'll feature your website on Floridata's Plant1 Everywhere section. This section will expand as more folks use Plant1 on their websites.
