I grew up in the Hudson Valley area of New York and have been trying to grow palms indoors since I was a teenager with some mixed results. After attending a local community college, I decide to transfer to the University of Florida where I could study,learn about and most importantly, be close to palms. I was lucky to do two internship: one at Busch Gardens in Tampa and the other at Fairchild Tropical Garden in Miami. I graduated in '96 and returned to NY(don't ask me why!) where I joined John Mini Indoor Landscapes as a horticulturist. I currently live in Westchester County, NY but hope to one day return to Florida where I can perhaps join a Landscape Design firm or Fairchild Tropical Garden.
